I consider myself a storyteller. In every civilization throughout history, the act of storytelling has been integral to the reflection, commentary, and improvement upon one’s society.  I look at my job as simply that.  I am telling human stories, that I hope will reflect our current status quo, provoke thought, entertain, and in some way, celebrate the communal event of people converging in a theatre.  To me, that event is sacred.  And it is my job as director to lead the audience on a journey in which they can see themselves, even in a piece that is drastically different from their everyday lives.  It is my task to reach every audience in a deeply personal way and make the work speak for them in a unique and highly visceral manner.

Directing Philosophy

There is only one way to learn.  It’s through action.

Everything you need to know you have learned through your journey.”
